According to their website, the Democratic Socialists of America believe that the economy and society should meet public needs, and not make profits "for a few". Their website calls for radical transformation of the government and society. Which is all a fancy way of saying that the money people earn should not go to those people, but to society for the benefit of others. Freedom of choice is not an option. Socialism does not work because it takes away an individual's right to choose how to run their life and spend their money.
